Garden office pool house and garden design build Sussex Kent

The Brief

As part of a larger project where we also undertook the landscape design, we were asked to design and build a compact pool house. This needed to provide space for pool services, a shower room and loo, and a space that could be used year round for lounging or indeed work.

The Design

The ultimate holiday hut, we created a space to relax by the pool side, with option to have the doors wide open on a summer’s day, or with the log burner crackling away hunkered down on a cooler evening.

We made the most of this space to fit in a shower room, and storage to the back for pool services, while providing a lounging area which converts into an office space – when a bit of pool side inspiration is required.

See our blog – do I need planning permission!

The exterior is locally sourced green oak weather board, reflecting the oaks in the surrounding woodland, the interior makes use of larch to give a warm honey glow, topped off with an impressive vaulted ceiling and bespoke detailing.

Coffee Table and Desk

The client wanted to be able to use for both work and play, so we designed and developed a coffee table that could fold out to become a desk (see gallery below).

Beyond four Walls

We also do landscape design, as a designer who has worked on property and furniture, the outside realm is the obvious next step, as a trained residential landscape designer, and a pre registered member of the society of garden designers, Dewlands is “where house meets garden”.
